Can a male/person identifying as any non-female gender attend the event?
Yes, yes, and yes! While our conference and the topics focused on are female-centric, we encourage and welcome any person of any gender identification to attend our conference. There is something for everyone at our conference and anyone can benefit from attendance.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
Come as you are, whatever age that may be. The only ID requirements we have insist that all Salem College Students bring their student ID for ticket purposes. You will miss out on the soul food without proof of student identification, so come prepared!
As a student, will I receive an excused absence for missing classes on Friday?
We want to make our conference as friendly to the work-life balance as possible. We cannot guarantee that your professors will excuse your absence from class. However, it is an incredible educational opportunity and many professors are understanding of this. If you have concerns about being able to attend for this reason, please send an email to Alyson.Francisco@Salem.edu.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
We trust that you will be responsible for knowing what NOT to bring to this event so we'll focus on what you CAN bring:
-
Resume (you never know who you might meet)
-
Extra notepad incase you run out of room trying to jot down all of the knowledge the professionals will be spilling
-
Business cards to build your network
We will provide a continental breakfast during registration from 7:30-8:15. Lunch is included in the ticket price and will be provided by The Porch.
Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
The Center for Women in Business at Salem College is a closely connected group of young professionals. We work together to quickly answer any questions you may have. Please email us at womensconference@salem.edu
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Since we live in such a mobilized environment all tickets will be purchased via Eventbrite. You are more than welcome to print your ticket out IF you would like, however, we will gladly accept your mobile ticket as well.
What is the refund policy?
November 9, 2017, is the last day for a full refund. Please e-mail us if your cancellation exceeds the set date.
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
Since this event is open to the general public as well as Salem College Students, we have provided you with answers for each group:
Salem Students: The name on the registration/ticket must match the attendee's name. In the event the information does not match, please contact the Center for Women in Business 24 hours prior to the conference in order to be eligible to attend.
General Public: As long as you can provide proof of purchase, you will be admitted.
What is the dress code for this event?
We understand that comfort is key when it comes to these events so we want you to feel relaxed throughout the day, but also conscious. We encourage you to look professional with a business/casual sense of style. We want to set you up for success so if you have any questions about the preferred attire, give us a shout via e-mail.
What should I do when I arrive at the conference?
Grub! Upon entering the Biotech Atrium you will find the registration tables on your route to breakfast. Please check-in first so that we can properly provide you with the tools and information you will need for the rest of the day.
I have a food sensitivity/allergy. Will there be menu options for me?
Our menu is still being developed, but we will have Vegetarian and Gluten Free options alongside our regular menu. We will be providing various delicious options that appeal to every taste bud, but we please advise that you e-mail us ASAP if you have any serious food health-related issues so that we can take action to accommodate you accordingly.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
The event is located in the Innovation Quarter Biotech Atrium at 575 Patterson Avenue. There will be parking available to all attendees in the lots adjacent to the Innovation Quarter. Expect to receive parking details closer to the date of the event. If you are a student check with your school about shuttle services.
